G.Skill Expands Trident Z5 Series With DDR5-6400 C30 Kits

G.Skill has announced an exciting expansion to its Trident Z5 Series memory lineup, introducing the DDR5-6400 C30 memory kits. Gaming, PC gamers, content creators, and enthusiasts rely on these new kits’ high capacity, speed and low latency. Under the Trident Z5 RGB and Trident Z5 Royal series, kits will launch with a flagship 96GB (2x48GB) kit, and 64GB and 48GB kits will also be making the rounds.

Designed for the best performance on Intel and AMD platforms, these DDR5 kits. They’re heavily Intel XMP 3.0 supported and are built to run at the speeds advertised out of the box on compatible systems. With DDR5-6400 speeds and tight CL30-39-39-102 timings, the Trident Z5 Series memory kits are poised to compete with the best RAM on the market.

 

High-Performance Memory for Intel and AMD

The Trident Z5 Series DDR5-6400 C30 kits are engineered to shine on Intel’s latest Arrow Lake processors. Paired up with an Asus ROG Maximus Z890 Hero motherboard and Intel Core Ultra 7 265K CPU, the memory smoothly hit the speeds claimed in tests. The CPU Z screenshots here show the memory running at 6400 MT/s with impressive stability and it seems to be a good pick for top end builds.

G.Skill however isn’t ignoring the AMD user either. Using an Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard and Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, the company showed how the kits can achieve the same speeds and timings. While AMD systems may require some tweaks due to the lack of native EXPO support, the Trident Z5 Series still delivers excellent performance, especially for users willing to fine-tune their settings.

Compatibility Across Platforms

Arrow Lake processors officially support DDR5-6400 memory, making the Trident Z5 Series a perfect match for Intel’s latest platform. In addition, these kits are well compatible with AMD users, particularly with Ryzen 9000 and Granite Ridge processors, which made the sweet spot in the DDR5-6400.

But Ryzen 7000 users running older Ryzen 7000 CPUs might have to make a few tweaks for stability as those CPUs are fine tuned for DDR5-6000 speeds. G.Skill’s memory kits are versatile enough to perform on any configuration out of the box, but the tightest timings may be achieved by manually tuning on AMD systems.

Smaller Kits Are on the Way

The 2x48GB kit (96GB) is the star of the lot, but G.Skill has confirmed that other capacities are on the way too. The Trident Z5 Series will soon include 64GB (2x32GB) and 48GB (2x24GB) options, catering to users who don’t need the full 96GB but still want high-performance memory.

Expected to feature the same DDR5-6400 speeds and low-latency CL30 timings, these smaller kits are a great option for mid range systems and compact systems alike. If you’re going to upgrade see these variants soon, G.Skill intends on releasing them within the current quarter.

Pricing and Availability

While G.Skill hasn’t officially announced pricing, the Trident Z5 Series DDR5-6400 C30 kits are expected to fall in the $350 range, similar to existing CL32 models. As these kits are likely premium performance and build quality kits, enthusiasts willing to invest in top-tier hardware should find appeal.

Fortunately, the kits will be available on G.Skill’s distribution partners later, but we believe soon they will begin to appear in the stores.
