Apple Vision Pro Set to Launch in Taiwan This December
Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s groundbreaking mixed reality headset, lands in Taiwan. When it finally debuts on December 17, the device will be capable of effortlessly merging digital content with the real world—and you’ll be able to pre order it on December 5.
Since the Apple Vision Pro’s initial release, it’s been on the slow roll out to various countries, the most recent being South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. Just in time for the holiday season, Taiwan will be the latest of many countries to offer the device.
A Powerful Spatial Experience
This comes from Apple’s press release, which states that “the Apple Vision Pro is rethinking spatial computing with a powerful spatial experience, innovating пользователями that will transform the way they work, collaborate, connect with others, revisit memories, and enjoy entertainment.” While other mixed reality headsets on the market can integrate digital content and the physical world, the device’s ability to do it is what separates it from the rest.
Apple Vision Pro boasts a high array of features which help to improve the user experience with high resolution displays, advanced sensors and intuitive controls. It also has broad application from productivity tools to especially immersive gaming experiences.
Pricing and Availability
The Apple Vision Pro will start at NT $ 119,900, or about $ 3,670 in Taiwan. That pricing is in line with the cost of the device elsewhere, with the United States as an example, where the 256GB option begins at $3,499.
As an added bonus, ZEISS customers in Taiwan will be able to purchase optical inserts to use with the Apple Vision Pro, for the ultimate in personalized comfort.
A Niche Product with Growing Demand
Even with its innovative capabilities and features the Apple Vision Pro has been considered a niche product. This is not a mass market device; it is for early adopters and professionals who will use it, Apple CEO Tim Cook has said.
Demand for the Apple Vision Pro, however, has been gradually increasing, and Apple has enough inventory to support the demand as long as there is demand, reports say. But analysts estimate that by the end of 2024, Apple will have produced 600,000 units of the headset.
Expanding the Mixed Reality Landscape
The Apple Vision Pro’s launch in Taiwan is a landmark for the mixed reality industry. The more countries that get access to that device, the more developers and content creators will have more of an audience to make it to, and you’ll see more innovative, more engaging experiences pop up as a result.
Apple’s decision to bring the Apple Vision Pro to more people helps cement the company’s belief in the future of mixed reality. The device will continue to evolve and get better until it’s actually a fairly mainstream product, which is how we’re going to interact with digital content and the world around us.
